Strategic Focus Area
Disaster Risk Management
Because the Bicol Region is vulnerable to typhoons, floods, drought, and volcanic eruptions. Natural disasters often cause significant property and infrastructure damage, as well as the loss of agricultural livelihoods. Hence, AIRCoDe shall assess the current disaster risk and problems in the community, such as the decade-old flooding, and shall address these problems through AI research studies, projects, and applications.
Agricultural Management
AIRCoDe, through its Agricultural Management Program, explores and discover products and procedures that will increase livestock and crop yields, improve farmland productivity, reduce loss due to disease and insects, develop more efficient equipment, and increase overall food quality through the application of artificial intelligence.
Community Development
AIRCoDe will conduct AI research projects in which community members will be supported by identifying and taking collective action on important issues to the community. Community development programs shall empower community members and create more potent and connected communities.
Environmental Development
AIRCoDe will also focus on the preservation of the environment by integrating Artificial Intelligence Projects through its Environment Development Program. Tangible positive changes, advancements and transformations in the overall conditions of the ecosystem especially regarding lesser land, water and air pollution as well as lesser destruction of vegetation and risk to wildlife.
Data-Driven Policy Development
Data-driven policy development aims to use new data sources such as (real-time) sensor data and contemporary techniques for processing and to realize the co-creation of policies involving citizens and other relevant stakeholders.
Capacity Building
AIRCoDe will strengthen its foundation by conducting a Capacity Building Program for AI researchers, students, and enthusiasts to strengthen confidence, skills, knowledge, and resources that may enhance the ability to envision and develop AI research projects.
