AIRCoDe Showcases Community-Driven AI Innovations at 2025 AI Fest

The AI Research Center for Community Development (AIRCoDe) of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) proudly took part in the 2025 AI Fest, a premier gathering of artificial intelligence researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts held at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City. The event, which ran from August 11–13, 2025, was spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VI, bringing together innovators and institutions to highlight the transformative role of AI in shaping communities and industries.

AIRCODE’s Exhibit Highlights

On Day 1 of the exhibit, AIRCoDe opened its booth to showcase two of its flagship projects:

  • Project Apaw – An AI-powered initiative designed for smarter disaster preparedness and flood management, addressing the recurring challenges of flooding in vulnerable communities.
  • University Policy Hub – An AI-driven chatbot that makes university policies more accessible, understandable, and user-friendly for students, faculty, and administrators.

Through these projects, AIRCoDe demonstrated its commitment to harnessing AI not only as a technological advancement but also as a tool for social good and community development.

CSPC Delegation

The center was proudly represented by Asst. Professor Joseph Jessie S. Oñate, Head of AIRCoDe, together with its dedicated members: Mr. Allan O. Ibo Jr., Ms. Kaela Marie N. Fortuno, and Ms. Tiffany Lyn O. Pandes. Their active engagement with visitors, fellow researchers, and policy advocates emphasized the center’s collaborative approach to AI development.

Interactive Activities and Community Engagement

Visitors to the booth were given the opportunity to explore hands-on demonstrations of AIRCoDe’s projects, interact with the University Policy Hub chatbot, and learn about the science behind Project Apaw. To make the experience more engaging, AIRCoDe also held a daily exhibit raffle, with winners announced at the end of each day.

These activities highlighted not only the technical innovation of the projects but also AIRCoDe’s dedication to making AI approachable and relevant to everyday concerns.

Commitment to Responsible AI Research

CSPC’s participation in the 2025 AI Fest reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to responsible AI research that bridges innovation with real-world applications. By focusing on disaster management, accessibility of policies, and community resilience, AIRCoDe continues to demonstrate how AI can be a driver of inclusive progress in the Philippines.

As AI Fest 2025 concludes, AIRCoDe remains steadfast in its mission to empower communities through research, innovation, and collaboration, bringing AI closer to the people it aims to serve.
